How International Standard Certification Promotes Enterprise Exports?——A Reconsideration of the"Export-Productivity Paradox"of Chinese Enterprises
This article extends the heterogeneous enterprise trade model proposed by Melitz(2003),analyzes the theoretical mechanism of promoting enterprise exports through international stan-dard certification, and empirically tests the conclusions of the theoretical model using propensity score matching(PSM)method. The study shows that promoting enterprise exports through international stan-dard certification also reduces the productivity threshold for enterprises to enter the international mar-ket,which to some extent explains the"export productivity paradox"of Chinese enterprises. At the same time, the more severe the problem of product information asymmetry is,the more obvious the promotion effect of international standard certification on enterprise exports is.The findings of this arti-cle will help to better play the role of international standard certification in promoting high-level open-ing up to the outside world.
