Several Key Issues of Storing Water in the Cave Depot
Water storage caverns are a new type of water conservancy projects. This paper summarizes and briefly discusses the key issues related to the particularity of water storage caverns, such as the demonstration of the scale of water storage caverns, determination of design standards, overall layout and structural scheme of the project, hydraulic regulation of water filling and discharging in caverns, energy dissipation in caverns, pressure state of caverns, ventilation and exhaust, gas explosion prevention and control, water quality control, sediment prevention and control, environmental impact, construction technology, etc. This paper also proposes research directions and solutions, aiming to provide references for establishing a technical system for water storage caverns.Resnlts show that storing water in the cave depot have outstanding advantages in safety and policy handling, but there are specific technical issues such as hydraulic regulation, ventilation and exhaust, and gas explosion prevention, which require research and exploration.
