The Hainan seed breeding base,known as"Silicon Valley of seed industry in China",epitomizes the development of China's seed industry.It holds significant practical significance for advancing the implementation of China's agricultural seed im-provement project and ensuring food security.Overall,the industrialization of the Hainan seed breeding base has made a series of achievements:the management system has gradually improved,the development environment for the seed industry has been opti-mized,the breeding process of the varieties at the base has accelerated,the industrial development of the base has begun to take shape,and there has been an increase in investment in the construction of the base.In the same time,there are still issues that need to be addressed in the development of the Hainan seed breeding base:the cooperation and sharing mechanism need to be strengthened,the legal and regulatory system is incomplete,there are difficulties in the on-site transformation of achievements,inadequate infrastructure,and challenges in meeting land demand.Therefore,it is necessary to scientifically plan the construc-tion of the Hainan seed breeding base,establish legal and policy guarantee mechanisms,create innovative platforms for breeding in the Hainan seed breeding base,improve supporting infrastructure,and enhance long-term mechanisms for land security,thus providing reliable support for the industrial development of the Hainan seed breeding base.
