Research on Government Support for Internationalization of Private Higher Education in Malaysia
The internationalization of private higher education in Malaysia is carried out with the support of the government,de-rived from political, economic and social motivations. The government promotes the internationalization of private higher educa-tion by establishing a comprehensive legal and regulatory system, issuing a series of policy documents, establishing a sound quali-ty assurance system, attaching importance to market-oriented approaches, actively guiding the construction and development of private higher education institutions, and taking incentive measures to attract international students etc.Government support has facilitated the development of internationalization in private higher education, leading to steady growth in international student en-rollment,increase in international cooperation programs and institutions, and the promotion of research internationalization.How-ever,there are still shortcomings such as the need to expand the connotations of internationalization, the coordination of interna-tionalization policies, and the enhancement of international learning capabilities.Drawing from its development experience,China can promote the internationalization of private higher education by improving relevant laws and regulations, establishing quality assurance mechanisms, introducing high-quality educational resources, expanding sources of funding, enhancing research inter-nationalization,and promoting comprehensive internationalization.
