Transformation and Development of Local Universities under the Background of Industry-education Integration:Logical Starting Point,Characteristic Elements, and Generation Modes
The transformation and development of local universities align with the national strategy of industry-education integra-tion,which not only reflects the fundamental nature of higher education as a professional vocation but also represents an inherent choice for the differentiated development of higher education institutions. After experiencing disagreements and confusion,as well as hesitation and bargaining, local universities are now entering a new stage of acceptance and adaptation.Drawing on the organi-zational transformation theory of scholar Burton Clark, the characteristics generated by the transformation and development of local universities can be summarized into five main elements:systematic top-level design, strong technological service capabilities, rich industry-education integration platforms, diversified sources of funding, and the accumulation of applied culture.Based on regional development and their own strengths, local universities have explored representative models such as industrial acade-mies,professional clusters, and innovation and entrepreneurship. These models are not only distinctive but also serve the goal of transformation and development.
