Digitization and Its Innovation from the Perspective of the Philosophy of Technology
Using the theories and ideas of the philosophy of technology to discuss the essence of digitization,it considers that the essence of digitization is to reveal and make things in the physical or real world exist in the form of digital information based on accumulated experience and developing cognition. Based on this essence,the connotations of digitization are extracted:reduc-ibility,spatiality,and reactivity. On this foundation,the implications of the essence and connotations of digitization for innova-tion of digitization research are explored:the connotations of digitization are the"root genes"of innovation of digitization,and the essence of digitization is the"root". Finally,prospects for digitization research based on the essence of digitization are proposed:measuring the connotations of innovation of digitization and related research;research on digital business model innovation based on the essence of digitization;and research on digital empowerment based on the essence of digitization. The main contribution of the paper is to incorporate the study of digitization into the perspective of the philosophy of technology,attempting to understand and analyze the essence of digitization from this angle,and to extract the connotations of digitization based on its essence,aiming to converge the theoretical research on digitization and innovation of digitization.
