A Cross-Sectional Study on the Impact of Physical Exercise on Depression and Anxiety Among College Students
Purpose:To explore the effects of physical exercise on depression and anxiety in college students;Methods:Through literature review,questionnaire survey,and statistical analysis,the physical exercise scores,depression scores,and anxiety scores of 1054 college students were analyzed to understand the current levels of physical exer-cise,depression,and anxiety among college students.The effects of physical exercise on depression and anxiety in college students were explored;Results:The average score for physical exercise among college students was 20.45±18.28.The detection rate for insufficient physical exercise was 61.6%.The average depression score was 47.07±10.07 with a detection rate of 29.6%,while the average anxiety score was 43.44±9.44 with a detection rate of 27.4%.There is a significant negative correlation between physical exercise and both depression and anxiety in col-lege students,as indicated by variance results showing that higher levels of physical exercise are associated with lower scores for both depression and anxiety;Conclusion:Physical exercise can regulate and improve the depressive mood and anxious mood in college students,alleviating negative emotions.
