Liu Zhenyun's new work,One Day Three Autumns,continues his humorous and game-like narrative style by connecting the realms of gods,ghosts,and humans through the core theme of"jokes".The novel explores the daily lives and experiences of the citizens of Yanjin.However,behind these jokes lies a sense of boredom and heaviness in life,thus creating a narrative effect of lightly hitting the heavy.The dissatisfaction and spiritual loneliness of Yanjin's citizens are hidden within these light-hearted jokes,wrapped around their blood,tears,and scars.In terms of narrative,the novel draws inspiration from traditional Chinese supernatural tales while infusing this legendary story with a weighty sense of truth through elements like traditional Chinese opera,coincidences,and folk art.
