Influence of medication compliance on curative effect of Pule'an in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia
Objective To Explore the influence of medication compliance on curative effect of Pule'an in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods Two hundred and forty BPH patients admitted to the outpatient department of Shaoxing Central Hospital from August to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects,all of whom received single drug treatment with Pule'an tablets.Patients were stratified and grouped by age(≤ 60 years old as Group A,>60 years old as Group B),duration of drug use(≤3.5 months as Group C,>3.5 months as Group D),drug use density(≤60.44%as Group E,>60.44%as Group F),and drug dosage(≤77.50%as Group G,>77.50%as Group H),and their international prostate symptom score(IPSS),quality of life score(QoL),and maximum urine flow rate(Qmax)in each stratified group were compared before and after treatment.Pearson correlation or Spearman tank correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between parameters of each stratified group and IPSS difference(ΔIPSS),QoL difference(ΔQoL),and Qmax difference(ΔQmax).Multiple linear regression models were used to analyze the effect of parameters of each stratified group onΔIPSS,ΔQoL and ΔQmax.Results There were significant differences between baseline IPSS and IPSS after treatment of patients with different ages,between IPSS,QoL after treatment and ΔIPSS,ΔQoL among patients with different drug use duration,between IPSS,QoL after treatment and ΔIPSS,ΔQoL among patients with different drug use densities,and between IPSS after treatment,ΔIPSS and ΔQoL among patients with different drug dosages(all P<0.05).The duration,density,and dosage of drug use were positively correlated with ΔIPSS,ΔQoL,and ΔQmax(all P<0.05),while age showed no significant correlation with ΔIPSS,ΔQoL and ΔQmax(all P>0.05).The multiple linear regression equations were:y 1=-4.881+0.069x1+0.057x2+0.213x3,ŷ2=-1.648+0.030x1+0.066x2+0.017x3,ŷ3=-4.299+0.087x1+0.296x2+0.049x3(ΔIPSS、ΔQoL、ΔQmax as ŷ1,ŷ2,ŷ3,drug usage duration,density,and dosage as x1,x2,x3),and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The contribution to the therapeutic effect:drug use duration>drug use density>drug dosage.Conclusion Patients'compliance to Pule'an has a certain impact on the efficacy of BPH,and the order of the contribution to efficacy from high to low is drug usage duration,drug usage density and drug dosage.
