Objective To explore effects of exercise therapy combined with language rehabilitation training on children with language retardation and its impact on language development ability and social adaptability. Methods Seventy children with language retardation who visited Yuyao Maternal and Child Health Hospital from May 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into an observation group of 35 cases and a control group of 35 cases using a random number table method. The control group received language rehabilitation training, while the observation group received exercise therapy combined with language rehabilitation training. The two groups were both treated for 8 weeks. The two groups were compared in intervention efficacy, and changes in Gesell developmental scale scores and social life ability before and after intervention. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 94.29%,which was higher than the control group's 74.29%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, scores of fine motor, adaptive ability, language ability, personal social behavior, and gross motor in the two groups of children were all statistically improved when compared with those before intervention(all P<0.05),with the above scores in the observation group significantly higher than those in the control group(all P<0.01).After intervention, scores of exercise, communication, homework completion, and participation in collective activities in the two groups were significantly increased(all P<0.05),with the above scores in the observation group statistically higher than those in the control group(all P<0.01).Conclusion Exercise therapy combined with language rehabilitation training has a significant clinical effect on children with language retardation, and can improve their language development ability and their social adaptability.
