Application of transparent cap-assisted water exchange single colonoscopy in intestinal metal stent implantation
Objective To explore the application of transparent cap-assisted water exchange single colonoscopy in intestinal metal stent implantation. Methods A total of 97 patients undergoing colonoscopy in Lishui Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2022 to December 2022 were randomly divided into trial group(n=49)and control group(n=48).The trial group received transparent cap-assisted water exchange colonoscopy, while the control group received conventional colonoscopy. The success rate of stent implantation, intraoperative abdominal pain score, obstruction relief rate, incidence of complications related to stent implantation and recovery time of intestinal function were compared between two groups. Results Colon stents were successfully implanted in 49 cases of the trial group and 43 cases in control group,respectively(P<0.05).The pain score in the trial group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.001).There were no significant differences in the remission rate of obstruction, the incidence of complications related to stent implantation and the recovery time of intestinal function between the two groups(all P>0.05).Conclusion The study shows that combining water exchange single colonoscopy with carbon dioxide and transparent cap-assisted technique can alleviate intraoperative abdominal pain and increase the success rate of intestinal metal stent implantation, which is worthy of clinical application.
