Distribution of bacterial pathogens and drug resistance of bloodstream infections in Zhoushan area from 2019 to 2022
Objective To analyze the distribution of bacterial pathogens and drug resistance of bloodstream infections in Zhoushan area from 2019 to 2022.Methods The blood cultures results in Zhoushan Maternal and Child Health Hospital,Zhoushan United Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Orthopedics and Traumatology, and Zhoushan Hospital from 2019 to 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The pathogen distribution and drug susceptibility were analyzed according to the 2021 antimicrobial susceptibility standards of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Standardization with the bacterial statistical software WHONET 5.6 recommended by the WHO.Results A total of 4 312 strains of pathogenic bacteria were isolated from the blood samples, including 1 814 strains(42.1%)of gram-positive bacteria,2 429 strains(56.3%)of gram-negative bacteria and 69 strains of fungus(1.6%).The most common bacterial strains were Escherichia coli,coagulase-negative staphylococcus,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Staphylococcus aureus, and Enterococcus. The methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus accounted for 45.2%,while the penicillin resistant Streptococcus pneumoniaeand vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecalis/faecal were not detected. The detection rates of carbapenem resistant Enterobacter, carbapenem resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii were 3.1%,21.6%and 28.6%,respectively.Conclusion Most of the bloodstream infections in Zhoushan are caused by Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus, and the drug resistance rates are high for some pathogenic bacteria.
