Differential expression of chromatin regulators in breast cancer and its value for prognosis of patients
Objective To investigate the differential expression of chromatin regulators(CRs)in breast cancer(BRCA)and their prognostic value. Methods The data of differentially expressed chromatin regulators between breast cancer and normal breast tissues were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas database.A prognostic risk model was constructed through LASSO-Cox regression analysis. The association between the risk model and the clinical features of breast cancer patients was analyzed, and individual validation for each gene was conducted. Finally, potential small molecule drugs targeting chromatin regulators were screened. Results A total of 127 differentially expressed chromatin regulators were identified, and a prognostic risk model based on 16 CRs were successfully constructed. The model demonstrated excellent accuracy in predicting the prognosis of breast cancer patients(P<0.05).Moreover,the risk model exhibited significant performance in relation to clinical features.Ultimately, ten potential therapeutic compounds were predicted, with choline being the most noteworthy. Conclusion The study has identified differentially expressed CRs in breast cancer and their roles in predicting prognosis of patients.
