Bioinformatics-based study of ZNF207 effect on tumor prognosis and immune microenvironment
Objective To investigate the expression of zinc finger protein 207 (ZNF207) in various tumors and its effect on the prognosis of patients,and to analyze its correlation with immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoint gene expression based on bioinformatics.Methods The expression data of ZNF207 mRNA in the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Genotype-Tissue Expression as well as clinical data of patients were collected,and the difference of ZNF207 mRNA expression in tumor tissues and normal tissues was compared.Univariate Cox regression was used to analyze the effect of ZNF207 mRNA expression on the prognosis of patients.Based on TCGA database data,xCell algorithm was used to evaluate ZNF207 mRNA expression and immune cell infiltration level,and Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between ZNF207 mRNA expression and immune checkpoint gene expression.The correlation between ZNF207 mRNA expression and programmed death receptor-ligand 1 gene expression was analyzed by Pearson correlation.The changes of ZNF207 gene and its effect on overall survival rate were analyzed based on cBio Cancer Genomics Portal data.Results Compared with normal tissues,the expression level of ZNF207 mRNA was significantly higher in many tumor tissues,and the differences were all statistically significant (all P<0.05).High expression of ZNF207 was a risk factor for some tumors and was associated with poor prognosis in patients (all P<0.05).ZNF207 gene expression was closely correlated with related immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoint gene expression (all P<0.05).For cancer patients,compared with the unaltered group,the total survival rate of the ZNF207 altered group was lower (P<0.05).Conclusion High expression of ZNF207 affects the prognosis of patients with various tumors,and ZNF207 may affect tumor progression by regulating tumor immune microenvironment.It is suggested that ZNF207 may be a potential target for tumor diagnosis,prognosis and treatment.
