Research on the Optimization Path of the Impact of Top Global International Security Think Tanks:Qualitative Comparative Analysis Based on a Configuration Perspective
[purpose/significance]The construction of national security think tanks is an important factor in promoting the modernization framework of national security governance system and capabilities.Clarifying the in-fluencing factors grouping path of high influence of global top national security think tanks is of great significance in providing useful reference for the influence building of Chinese national security think tanks.[Method/Process]To investigate the various combinations of conditions for the high influence of top global national security think tanks,we construct a model of the influencing factors of the influence of national security think tanks based on the political system theory,and use the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method to analyze the formation of the influ-ence of the 36 global top national security think tanks around the globe in a group manner.[Result/Conclusion]The findings indicate that no single influencing factor serves as the core conditions for the high impact of national securi-ty think tanks.Instead,high influence is driven by a combination of conditions,which include being policy-oriented,fostering collaboration and innovation,being resource-driven,and emphasizing public dissemination.Consequently,Chinese national security think tanks can choose the appropriate path according to their own characteristics.
