[Purpose/Significance]The integration of science and technology represents a crucial direction for the development of new-type think tanks with Chinese characteristics in the new era.The people's organiza-tions represented by the Association for Science and Technology play a key role as a bridge connecting the Party and the government with the scientists and technicians.These organizations fully leverage their role of uniting and leading the scientists and technicians,guiding and stimulating them to serve the party and the government through scientific decision-making.The interactive mode between them has strong representativeness and promo-tion significance.[Method/Process]This article introduces an original definition of the concept of"technology think tanks"by analyzing representative cases and literature both domestically and internationally,outlines the mechanism of group organizations and explores the interactive model between technology think tanks and scien-tific professionals.[Result/Conclusion]The model of scientific and technological group think tanks uniting and leading scientific professionals operates through three main pillars:platform support,network connection and ac-tion guidance.At the same time,technology workers support the development of think tanks through achievement output,professional analysis and strategic planning.Combined with the practice of the Association for Science and Technology,the problems existing in the development of the scientific and technological group think tanks are analyzed,and suggestions are put forward optimization.
