A three-story green-glazed pottery pavilion with human-shaped columns in the Eastern Han dynasty was unearthed from the Jiunu Tomb in Huaiyang,Henan.The phoenix-bird ridge decoration on the pavilion is a relic of ancient totem culture.The"androgynous"humanoid column is a unique symbol of Chen-Chu culture.This article discusses totem worship,fertility worship,Fuxi culture,Laozi culture and other aspects,and reveals the ancient cultural connotations con-tained in the green-glazed pottery pavilions with human-shaped columns in the Eastern Han Dynasty.
