The dual role and research status of autophagy in colorectal cancer
Colorectal cancer(CRC)is one of the most common malignant tumors of the digestive system whose incidence is increasing year by year.Autophagy is a process of intracellular self-degradation under stress conditions and plays dual roles by inhibiting or promoting the occurrence, development, recurrence, metastasis, and treatment sensitivity of CRC under different conditions. This review summarizes the roles of autophagy in the occurrence, development, recurrence, and metastasis of CRC,as well as its influence on the immune microenvironment and therapeutic efficacy, proposed potential autophagy-related therapeutic targets,in the hope to provide new ideas for the treatment of CRC.
