The strategic choices of proxywar of the United States have not received sufficient atten-tion in terms of differences in patterns and the respective reasons.Since the end of the Cold War,the proxy strategy of the United States varies at different times.The general process of stra-tegic decision-making in American warfare includes:emergence of international crises,assess-ment of needed intervention,and selection of intervention strategies.It will also consider the cost of domestic audiences when making specific decisions.Through controlled comparative analysis and deducting other alternative explanations of the selected cases,this paper found that the actors'type of challenger determines the basic value of the strategic choices of the United States in international crisis,and the pressure of international structure affects its strategic choices of proxy war.
