Optimization and Performance Analysis of Air Cooler Based on Inverse Brayton Cycle
The improvement of adiabatic compression process of a conventional air cooler to isothermal compression is proposed in this paper by employing a multi-tube bundle air compressor. The compression process, the refrigeration cycle process and the refrigeration efficiency of the improved air cooler based on an inverse Brayton cycle are analyzed. The results show that compared with the traditional air cooler, the improved air cooler compressor outlet temperature can be reduced by 144.55 K,the work done can be reduced by 52.48 kJ/kg and the coefficient of performance(COP)can be increased by 0.375.If the recovery of expansion work is considered, the improved air cooler COP can reach 1.33.
