Experimental Research on Single Stage G-M Cryocooler with Large Cooling Capacity
In this paper, large cooling capacity single stage Gifford-McMahon (GM) cryocoolers are developed, and the factors affecting the cooling performance are analyzed by experimental research. The refrigeration performance and reliability have been improved by optimizing the structure of cold end heat exchangers and valves. The results showed that the refrigeration capacity of the refrigerator reached 254 W/50 Hz and 276 W/60 Hz in the 70 K temperature range, with power consumption of 6.9 kW/50 Hz and 7.2 kW/60 Hz,respectively. The cooling performance increased about 3.4% by changing system filling pressure and the cooling capacity attenuated as the inclination from 0° to 180°. In 6000 hours of stability tests, the minimum refrigeration temperature fluctuation is less than 3 K,and cooling performance is stable at 70 K without significant attenuation.
