[Objectives]Due to the fact that the actual operation of the thermal power plant uses high moisture lignite, problems such as blockage and adhesion often occur during coal transportation. Therefore, this article uses EDEM software for numerical simulation analysis based on these problems.[Methods]Through the investigation and analysis of on-site coal samples,in the simulation process, the particle size, moisture content, and total flow of coal were mainly analyzed, and its impact on the fluidity of coal was exploved. After numerical simulation analysis, the effects of various factors were compared using flow velocity and forces between particles.[Results]The main reasons for blockage are as follons:firstly, the relative interaction between coal particles during the flow process in the silo is caused by the coal particle size being too large or too small;Secondly,as the amount of coal increases, the flow state of coal in the warehouse changes from overall flow to central flow; The last and most important factor is the moisture content of coal, which not only affects its own adhesion but also increases its own weight. Therefore, excessive moisture can cause slow flow and blockage.[Conclusions]The research results can provide theoretical support for solving the problem of coal blockage in coal-fired power plants.
