Progress on Diagnosis and Treatment of Functional Neuro-endocrine Neoplasm
Neuroendocrine neoplasm(NEN)is a type of rare neoplasm originated from neuroen-docrine cells and peptide-energetic neurons.Functional neuroendocrine neoplasm(F-NEN)can synthesize and secrete a large amount of peptides,amines and other related hormones,causing specific clinical manifestations and seriously affecting the health of patients.F-NEN is highly hete-rogeneous,the diagnosis of which is difficult and complex.The clinical management of F-NEN includes both improvement of clinical symptoms and control of tumor progression,therefor persona-lized treatment is required.In recent years,breakthroughs have been made in clinical diagnosis and treatment based on specific targets,such as somatostatin receptor(SSTR),which brings survival benefit for patients with advanced NEN.In this paper,the progress on the diagnosis and treatment of F-NEN is reviewed.
