Research on dynamic modeling of water-cooled centrifugal chiller and control development
Control of a chiller affects its operation performance.Model based control design is helpful for improving the development efficiency,reducing developing period and cost.This paper introduces a research on dynamic modeling of the water-cooled centrifugal chiller and intelligent controller design and simulation test.The chiller dynamic model based on thermal principles was firstly developed in Modelica environment,the model is then connected with control models to form the so-called dynamic-control simulation plat-form.Based upon the platform,intelligent loading PID and intelligent tuning PID algo-rithms were developed and tested.Results showed that it is feasible to develop dynamic-control platform for control design,the intelligent PID controllers are able to reduce con-trol overshot,eliminate oscillations,thus making the chillers operate in a more stable manner.
