HVAC engineering design of a data center in a mild area
The article primarily introduces the design of the HVAC(Heating,Ventila-tion,and Air Conditioning)project in a data center located in Guiyang,a temperate region.The design includes load calculation,air conditioning system design for the com-puter room and other areas,air flow organization design and simulation,selection of cool-ing and heating sources,design of ventilation system after gas extinguishment,water sys-tem design,and operational strategies for HVAC systems.The cooling and heating source solutions fully consider the climate and resource conditions of the temperate region.During transitional seasons and when conditions permit in winter,natural cooling sources are utilized through cooling towers.In summer,medium-temperature chilled water units are used to provide cold water,and energy-saving techniques such as the closure of hot aisle channels in the data center are implemented to reduce the overall energy consumption of the HVAC system.The data center achieves a power usage effectiveness(PUE)of 1.39,indicating its energy efficiency.
