Integration technology of direct air capture and air-conditioning system:a review and prospects
The proposal of carbon neutrality goals,as well as the ongoing enhancement of people's needs for comfort in their living environment, have led to increasing air-condi-tioning system.Direct air capture (DAC)technology is capable of capturing CO2 from a distributed rarefied carbon source, making it a good technical fit for building air-condition-ing and ventilation systems. In recent years,a technical path for integrating DAC and air-conditioning system has been proposed. This study reviews the research progress of this technology route from the technical perspective,as well as the development trend and challenges of this technology. Results show that DAC technology may promote the effi-cient,low-carbon and healthy development of air-conditioning technology by reducing car-bon emissions, increasing indoor air quality, conserving energy and improving effici-ency.However,at this moment, the integration technology of DAC and air-conditioning and ventilation systems is still in its infancy, and it confronts several challenges such as technology, cost, safety, and policy, making it urgent to carry out in-depth research in related areas.
