[Objective]The aim was to study the effect of different sowing date on growing characters and yield of mung bean variety Taolv No.5.[Method]With Taolv No.5 as tested material,the effect of different sowing date on growth period,plant height,leaf number,100-seed weight,pods per plant and yield was studied by stages seed-times.[Result]With the delaying of sowing date,growth period gradually shorten,and growing characters including plant height,leaf number,100-seed weight and pods per plant and yield showed a first increase and then decrease trend.[Conclusion]The optimal sowing date of Taolv No.5 in Jilin province is May 26,which can get good growth state,the optimal spike-grain structure,the highest yield and the highest planting benefit.
