Analysis and Evaluation of Quality of Ningxia Kylin Melon
[Objective]The aim was to detect the nutritional components of Kylin melon produced in different regions of Ningxia,and explore the quality status.[Method]22 Kylin melon samples from 13 counties and districts of Ningxia were selected and 18 indicators such as fruit appearance,soluble solid,total sugar and fructose were detected by relevant national standards.The sensory quality and nutritional quality were analyzed and evaluated with Ningxia selenium sand melon and mult melon sampled during the same period.The correlation between the contents of nutrients was analyzed.[Result]The soluble solid content of Kylin melon was 12.1%.The crude fiber content was 0.06%.The protein content was 0.79%.Compared with the representative value of watermelon,the calcium content of 79 mg/kg and potassium content of 181 mg/100 g were respectively 9 mg/kg and 84 mg/100 g higher than the representative value of watermelon,the selenium content of 0.009 mg/kg was the same as the representative value of watermelon,and the carotene content of 308 μg/100 g was 135 μg/100 g higher than the representative value.It is rich in zinc,vitamin C,aspartic acid,glutamic acid,lycopene and other nutrients.[Conclusion]Ningxia Kylin melon was grade A product with less fiber,more juice,crisp taste,excellent sensory quality,rich nutrient content and high quality.The quality of watermelon could be improved by water saving and irrigation control,balanced fertilization and increasing potassium fertilizer at fruit rising stage.
