Effect of Microbial Fertilizer on Yield and Quality of Autumn Spinach
[Objective]The aim was to study the effect of increasing microbial fertilizer on the yield and quality of spinach in view of the decrease of yield and quality of spinach caused by excessive application of chemical fertilizer.[Method]The effects of different gradients of microbial fertilizer on the yield and quality of spinach were analyzed.[Result]The combined application of chemical fertilizer and microbial fertilizer promoted the increase of spinach yield. However, the yield did not increase linearly with the increase of the amount of microbial fertilizer. The root length of spinach treated with microbial fertilizer was shortened, the plant height was significantly increased, the oxalic acid content in leaves was decreased, and the crude fiber content and chlorophyll content were increased. The nitrate content of spinach after application of chemical fertilizer was significantly higher than that of spinach without any fertilizer. The nitrate content did not increase significantly after application of 1 500 and 2 250 kg/hm2 microbial fertilizer, but the nitrate content increased significantly again after application of 3 000 kg/hm2 microbial fertilizer.[Conclusion]Microbial fertilizer could improve the quality of spinach, but the relationship between the increase of dosage and the quality was not a linear increase trend, and the blind increase of microbial fertilizer dosage should be avoided.
