Experimental Study on Comprehensive Utilization of Cotton in Cotton Area of Liaohe River Basin
[Objective]The aim was to evaluate the potential of comprehensive utilization of cotton for feed.[Method]Taking cotton, corn and soybean as the research objects, the regional comparison method was used to compare the biomass and nutrient content(crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat and starch)of the three crops at different stages.[Result]The results showed that the biomass and dry matter accumulation rates of the three crops increased with the growth process, and the aboveground biomass and grain yield of maize were higher than those of cotton and soybean. The starch content of corn was significantly higher, and the crude protein and crude fat content of cotton and soybean were higher. The content of cellulose and starch per unit area of corn was higher in the three periods, the crude protein and crude fat content of soybean were higher after entering reproductive growth, and cotton was not dominant in all periods.Corn has the highest production efficiency, followed by soybeans and cotton.[Conclusion]Cotton had the potential to be used as a high-quality feed for livestock and poultry due to its balanced nutrition, rich protein and fat content.
