Dendrocimus houi had a large size,a long period of young worms and a large food intake,which had caused great harm to pine plants in Yunnan province.Due to the limitation of regional and geographical location,traditional chemical and physical control methods had brought great challenges to regional control and ecological balance.Aiming at the problems of single forest species,few natural enemies of D.houi,long-term application of chemical control,antibody gene formation in insect pests,the characteristics of D.houi were studied,the main causes of local pine caterpillar proliferation were found out,and the prevention and control methods were proposed.
