[Objective]To understand the growth status of Taxus chinensis seedlings under different site conditions, and to explore the effects of site conditions on growth and development habits of T. chinensis.[Method]Two-year-old T. chinensis seedlings were selected as experimental materials. By designing plots with different slope positions, slope directions and slopes, the survival rate, average growth and photosynthetic characteristics of T. chinensis seedlings under different site conditions were studied, and the environmental characteristics suitable for the growth of T. chinensis seedlings were explored.[Result]When T. chinensis seedlings were planted on the middle and lower slopes, the survival rate, annual growth of seedling height, annual growth of ground diameter and photosynthetic characteristics were significantly better than those on the upper slope. Compared with sunny slope and semi-sunny slope, shady slope and semi-shady slope are more suitable for the growth of T . chinensis seedlings . Too high or too low slope will have a negative impact on the growth of T. chinensis seedlings. It is recommended to plant T. chinensis seedlings in areas with slopes of 25°~35° .[Conclusion]When cultivating and planting T. chinensis seedlings,in order to obtain higher survival rate, combine with the local actual situation, the planting areas of middle slope downhill (altitude of 1400-1500 m),shady slope semi-shady slope (north and northeast slope direction) and medium slope were selected, and the afforestation of T. chinensis was carried out according to the principles of middle and low altitude, shady slope and medium slope.
