Effects of Disastrous Weather in Summer of 2023 in Inner Mongolia on the Growth of Lycium barbarum and its Prevention Measures
[Objective]To quantitatively explore the effect of meteorological factors on the growth of Lycium barbarum.[Method]According to the high temperature, precipitation and sunshine indicators of L.barbarum in previous studies, combined with the actual growth of local L.barbarum, the effects of summer high temperature, precipitation and sunshine on the growth of L.barbarum in the main production area of Inner Mongolia during 2023 were analyzed.[Result]During the summer of 2023,the temperature in most of the main L.barbarum producing areas in Inner Mongolia was on the high side, and the high temperature period was mainly concentrated from July to August. There were two large-scale extreme heavy precipitation weather in July and August, resulting in insufficient sunshine for 30 consecutive days in mid July, late July and early August. The high temperature, heavy rainfall and lack of sunshine led to flower and fruit drop, fruit blackening, and shortened the growth time and fruit picking period of young fruits, which seriously affected the yield and quality of L.barbarum.[Conclusion]The results provide support for the meteorological department to effectively carry out meteorological prediction and scientific research of L.barbarum.
