City Nights Under Light Pollution:Healthy Urban Lighting
The rapid development of urban construction and the increase in night-time commercial activities contribute directly to the continuous growth in artificial lighting usage in city nights. In the context of excessive brightness to the extent of creating a second daylight, the issue of urban light pollution has gradually attracted attention. This paper employs critical literature reviews and empirical studies to analyze the current research status of light pollution issues both domestically and internationally. It delves into the adverse effects of excessive urban nighttime lighting on human circadian rhythms, vision, psychological states,as well as its negative impacts on the ecology of animals, plants, and the environment. From the perspective of creating a healthy city, the paper emphasizes the necessity of regulating and using lighting in a rational manner. It further explores strategies for optimization light pollution prevention and control through advocacy, regulatory measures, and legislative improvements. The study provides a comprehensive summary of existing scientific perspectives and innovative luminaire design approaches aimed at mitigating and optimizing urban light pollution. It envisions future directions for the development of a harmonious urban lifestyle under the premise of healthy lighting.
