Research on a Uniform Light Source with Adjustable Color Temperature and Brightness
Uniform light sources are crucial for calibration and correction in imaging systems. In addition to uniformity, precise adjustment of parameters such as brightness and color temperature is also of significant importance. This paper introduces a computational method and device based on mixing cold white and warm white LEDs.By fully utilizing the controllability of LED light sources and the mixed-light technology of cold and warm white LEDs,this method adjusts the currents of cold and warm white LEDs and collects data on the brightness and color temperature of the light source output. This establishes a correspondence between the currents and the brightness/color temperature.Using MATLAB's spline interpolation function, the entire data model is refined by grid refinement. Finally, with brightness and color temperature as target values, the corresponding currents of cold and warm white LEDs are reverse-calculated.The experiments show that, with error margins set at±200 cd/m2 for brightness and±50 K for color temperature, the fluctuation in brightness of the mixed light source is less than 2%,and the deviation in correlated color temperature is within±30 K.The uniformity of the luminance on the light source surface is greater than 96%.
