Development of a Questionnaire on the Impact of Light Exposure History and Individual Characteristics on Myopic Progression
This study developed a questionnaire to explore the impact of light exposure history and individual characteristics on myopia development.Reliability and validity tests were conducted, and exploratory experiments based on the questionnaire were carried out.The findings indicated that a history of strong outdoor light exposure has a significant influence on the development of myopia. The questionnaire was developed based on concepts such as light environment and duration of outdoor activities affecting myopia progression.Three PhD experts in the fields of lighting and ophthalmology evaluated the content validity of the questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 4 sub scales with a total of 49 items.A total of 1 210 people participated in the survey, with 422 valid responses collected. The questionnaire demonstrated good reliability and validity, with an internal consistency reliability Cronbach's alpha of 0.89,a test-retest reliability of 0.82,concurrent validity for vision information prediction of 0.95,and a Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin measure of structural validity of 0.77.This questionnaire provides researchers with a robust tool for investigating the impact of light exposure history and individual characteristics on myopia progression.
