Research on the Visual Safety of Public Transportation Spaces in Old Residential Areas from the Perspective of Aging——A Case Study of Old Residential Areas in Chongqing
In the context of aging, the lighting environment of transportation spaces in old residential areas plays an important role in the visual safety of elderly individuals. In order to study the impact of various lighting elements on the visual safety of the elderly,40 participants were selected for the survey. The semantic differential method was used to assess the subjective safety of 107 sets of real-life photos. A correlation analysis was conducted on factors such as horizontal illuminance on the ground, vertical illuminance on the walls, uniformity of ground illuminance, general color rendering index, and color temperature. Based on the existing issues,an optimization design was carried out using DIALux software. This helped to preliminarily define the value ranges for various lighting indicators and establish an optimization model to visualize the effects. The study also proposed strategies for optimizing the lighting quality indicators of public transportation spaces in old residential areas. The results indicate that horizontal illuminance on the ground, vertical illuminance on the walls, and ground illuminance uniformity have a significant positive correlation with visual safety. Specifically, horizontal illuminance on the ground should be greater than 150 lx,vertical illuminance on the walls should be greater than 60 lx,and ground illuminance uniformity should be greater than 0.6,ideally exceeding 0.8. Therefore, the current lighting design of transportation spaces in old residential areas needs to be more targeted to create lighting environments that better accommodate the visual characteristics of elderly individuals.
