Traditional road infrastructure can no longer meet the diversified needs of highway managers and travelers,and smart roads focusing on perception,control and maintenance have emerged as the times require,becoming an important symbol of highway modernization and an evolution form of high-quality development.Taking Nanjing 126 Provincial Highway Science and Technology Demonstration Project as an example,this paper analyzes the characteristics of the project,introduces the project design scheme from the overall framework and life cycle application based on the construction needs,and provides ideas for the construction of intelligent highway in the life cycle of ordinary national and provincial highways.
