Research progress on structure optimization and application of hydroxamic acid collector
As a traditional anionic chelating collector, hydroxamic acid is widely used in the flotation of oxide minerals and rare earth minerals. In recent years, with the development of the molecular design theory of flotation reagents and the in-depth study of the principle of action of flotation reagents, more and more new hydroxamic acid collectors have been developed and applied in mineral flotation.Hydroxamic acid collectors are composed of polar and non-polar groups, and the flotation performance of the collectors can be enhanced by optimizing the structure of these two groups. For the polar group,it can be optimized by introducing hydroxamic group,nitrogen-containing group and sulfide ether group;for the nonpolar group,it can be optimized by choosing suitable hydrocarbon chain structure and introducing electrophilic or electrophobic group. There are two interaction models between metal-based hydroxyxamic acid complexes and mineral surfaces, namely the pre-adsorption activated flotation model and the metal ion interface pre-assembly model.
