Secondary cementation is widely distributed in the cracks of the slope rock mass, and the secondary cemented rock mass is very easy to develop dense microcracks during the seismic process.Uniaxial static loading and unloading tests were carried out to study the effect of secondary cementation on the microcrack propagation process of the rock mass under the loading conditions by means of the acoustic emission(AE)spectrum characterization. The results show that small-scale cracks,microcracks,along-crystalline cracks and through-crystalline cracks are generated throughout the whole test process under static loading.Large-scale cracks corresponding to low-frequency and high-frequency signals are mainly generated in the unstable propagation stage. The type of AE peak frequency under loading and unloading conditions is influenced by the area of secondary cementation, which plays a major role in controlling the damage to the rock mass and reduces the stress threshold that cause damage. The non-compatible deformation caused by the difference between secondary cementation and rock properties under loading and unloading is the root cause of the damage.
