Introduction to Technical and Economic Evaluation Indicators for Data Centers
The data center industry has formed its own unique technical and economic indicators in the development of the industry, this paper takes the different stages of the whole life cycle of the data center, combines the characteristics of the data center industry, adopts the methodology of technical and economic analysis, and constructs the technical and economic indicator system of the data center infrastructure in a quantitative manner through the quantitative measurement and evaluation of technical and economic indicators, and then combines the key indicators(e.g.,PUE of the design,PUE,rack power up rate, rack rate, construction level, operation and maintenance level, etc.)with the evaluation indicators of economic return on investment(payback period, unit kW cost(IT power),single cabinet operation and maintenance cost, etc.)The key indicators(such as design PUE,operation PUE,rack power rate, rack rate, construction level, operation and maintenance level, etc.)are then associated with the economic return on investment evaluation indicators(payback period, unit kW cost(IT power),single cabinet operation and maintenance cost, etc.)to systematically construct a technical and economic evaluation model for the entire life cycle of data center infrastructure.Based on the analysis and evaluation of the evaluation model, the main direction of work at different stages of the data center is determined, quantitatively defining the elements and measurement standards of sustainable development of the data center, and providing decision-making basis for the location, investment, construction, operation and transformation of the data center infrastructure,so as to guarantee the healthy and sustainable development of the data center and help the development of China's digital economy.
