This paper describes the problems faced by existing building renovation,such as changes in codes and standards,constraints of civil engineering conditions,lack of drawings,site complexity,etc.Combined with the actual case of existing building renovation of five-star hotels,it puts forward reasonable and feasible solutions for the renovation of substation,generator program,fire protection and electrical renovation,lightning protection system renovation,as well as other problems,etc.It also summarizes the common and special characteristics of the renovation of existing buildings.Finally,we summarize the common and special characteristics of existing building renovation.
