The progress of map-making depends on the extensive application of remote sensing image technology,and the image clarity in map-making has been greatly improved.This chapter will combine the practical application of remote sensing image technology in the work of map compilation,and take the map compilation of Yichang City as an example to provide corresponding explanations from various aspects such as mapping material preparation,multi-source data set registration,data matching,image interpretation,and satellite image change detection.It also discusses the future development trend of the work of map compilation,so as to provide some reference for the future map compilation.
