Chengdu,as one of the first national-level historical and cultural cities,has only a few existing modern buildings.Many modern buildings with high value are located in the center of the city and have been demolished or over-transformed due to the land appreciation,reconstruction of the old city,tourism development and other reasons.Citang Street is a typical representative of a well preserved modern buildings located in the center of the city.This paper takes the modern architectural complex of Citang Street as an example,analyzes and studies the protection and regeneration of modern buildings on the basis of field research,and provides a good reference for the protection and regeneration of other modern buildings.
