The application of BIM modeling software project templates is crucial to unify modeling standards,improve modeling efficiency and ensure the quality of BIM models. The setting of project templates should be based on national,local,industry and enterprise BIM standards to meet the requirements of enterprise digital implementation. This paper studies the application status of two kinds of mainstream BIM modeling software in engineering industry of Revit and OpenBuildings Designer,and the content of project template setting,compares the usage proportion of the two kinds of software in the engineering business fields of civil and industrial construction,water conservancy and hydropower,new energy and other engineering business fields,as well as their advantages and disadvantages in project template setting. It also analyzes the main application scenarios of the two kinds of software based on the research results,and provides references for engineers,teams and enterprises to choose and use BIM modeling software.
