Photosynthetic pigments and chlorophyll lfuorescent characteristics of 17 provenances ofBanksia seedlings
The response of photosynthetic characteristics were investigated for seedlings of four species and their 17 provenances in genusBanksia at aspects of photosynthetic pigments contents, chlorophyllfluorescence parameters and photo response characteristics. The results show that Chla and Car contents and Chla/Chlb ofBanksia aemula seedlings were the highest, but their ratio of Chl and Car was the smallest among four species, and contents of all photosynthetic pigments of provenance No. 38505 were the highest in this species; the potential activity of PSII (Fv/Fo) and light conversion efifciency (Fv/Fm) ofB. robur and B. aemula were signiifcantly higher than those of other two species; and actual quantum yield of photosystemII (AYI), electron translation rate(RETR) and the coefifcient of photochemical fluorescence quenching(CqP) ofB. robur were the highest. The fitted parameters from rapid light curves showed that the maximum relative electron transfer rate(rETR)and light quantum efifciency (α) ofB. robur were signiifcantly higher than other species, and the provenance No. 35224 performed best with great photosynthetic physiological function. Theifndings provide scientiifc evidences for selecting and breeding of prior germplasm of genusBanksia.
