Tensile stress analysis of silicate adhesive/poplar veneer gluing specimens based on ANSYS
In order to predict and evaluate the performance of the bonding properties and interface forces between silicate adhesive and wood, the mechanical behavior of the test specimens for bonding strength was simulated using the finite element software ANSYS under tensile loading condition. The distribution of displacement deformation, shear stress and strain of the specimens was analyzed in the process of loading, as well as the distributions in the center of adhesive layer, the vertical layer direction and the bonding interface. The effect of adhesive type and layer thickness of adhesive on the bonding strength was discussed with experiment and simulation. The result was guidance for the research of interface mechanical and the prediction of bonding strength of specimens.
