Response of soil respiration to simulated rainfall in Castanopsis hystrix plantation in central of Guangxi
In order to understand the effects of rainfall on soil respiration, the simulated rainfall experiment was conducted in a Castanopsis hystrix plantation in July and August in year 2015.There were four precipitation levels(0 mm,5 mm,10 mm and 15 mm) in this research.Soil respiration rate was measured by Li-COR 8100.The results indicate that:In a dry soil, rainfall would stimulate soil respiration in short time, and this effect increased with rainfall intensity.Soil respiration rates in rainfall treatment were 1.29-1.82 times than in control. In a wetting soil, rainfall had negative effect on soil respiration in the beginning, but a positive effect in second day.The weather after rainfall could affect the response of soil respiration to rainfall obviously.
