Effects of cutting height and time on the quantity and quality of Eucalyptus maideni shoots
[Objective]To provide theoretical basis for constructing a technology system for promoting the sprouting of Eucalyptus maideni, and to study the effects of cutting height and time on the sprouting and shoots of E.maideni seedlings.[Method]Using 1 a E.maideni seedlings as test materials, using 2 factors(cutting height:5,10,15,20 cm;cutting time:September,October,November)was designed to study the effects of cutting height and time on the number of shoots, effective shoots quantity, effective shoots length, and effective shoots diameter of E.maideni.to analyze the cutting height and cutting time.[Result]At 60 days and 120 days after the cutting treatment, the best number of shoots produced by sprouting(4.68,3.72,0.30 branches·plant-1),effective number of shoots(3.25,3.38 branches·plant-1),effective length of shoots(8.639,9.878 cm),and effective base diameter of shoots(0.748,1.217 mm)were all the treatment combination A4B1(cutting height of 20 cm,cutting time of September). There were extremely significant differences in the number of shoots, effective shoots, effective shoots length, and effective shoots diameter between the 12 treatment combinations at 60 days and 120 days.Overall, the treatment combination A4B1 was significantly larger than the other treatment combinations; There were significant differences between factor levels, and factor A was the main factor affecting seedlings.Overall,A4 was significantly higher than the other three levels, and B1 was significantly higher than the other two levels. The theoretical optimal level combination was A4B1.[Conclusion]In summary, the effects of cutting height and cutting time on the sprouting ability of E.maideni seedlings are extremely significant. The optimal treatment combination for promoting sprouting of E.maideni seedlings is A4B1(cutting height of 20cm,cutting time of September).Cutting height is the main factor affecting seedling sprouting. In practical production, the most suitable cutting height and cutting time can be adopted based on the experimental results.
