Regulatory benefits of paclobutrazol and 6-benzylaminopurine on root morphology of Phoebe sheareri seedlings
[Objective]The underdeveloped root system of Phoebe sheareri seedlings seriously restricts the reproduction of P.sheareri seedlings, and exogenous hormones can regulate the morphological development of plant roots.P.sheareri seedlings were treated with paclobutrazol(PP333)and 6-benzylaminopurine(6-BA)to analyze their effects on root morphological characteristics. To determine the most suitable hormone and concentration for root development.[Method]Seedlings germinated from mature P.sheareri seeds collected on the same mother tree were used as experimental materials, and three concentrations(PP333 concentrations of 0.6,6,60 mg·L-1;The concentrations of 6-BA were 10,50 and 75 mg·L-1).The root scanner was used to count the morphological indexes such as taproot length, taproot diameter, total root length and root surface area of P.sheareri seedlings, and the effects of two exogenous hormones on the root morphology of P.sheareri seedlings were analyzed.[Result]Although PP333 treatment would increase the growth of P.sheareri seedlings with the increase of taproot length, the number of second-order lateral roots, and the total length of second-order lateral roots,it would promote the increase of the diameter of the main root and the thickening of the main root diameter.Compared with the CK group,PP333 and 6-BA promoted the increase of topological index, and promoted the evolution of P.sheareri root to fishtail-shaped branch structure.Through principal component analysis and membership function analysis,it was concluded that under hormone treatment, the concentration was 50 mg·L-1 6-BA had the best effect on promoting the root development of P.sheareri.[Conclusion]The results showed that different hormones and different concentrations of the same hormone had different regulatory modes on the growth of taproot and lateral roots of P.sheareri.Select 50 mg·L-1 6-BA had the best effect on promoting the growth and development of P.sheareri roots.Select 50 mg·L-1 6-BA had the best effect on promoting the growth and development of P.sheareri roots.
